Fox Den : Sunday, May 06, 2007 - Medford, Nova Scotia. Temperature: 8c (46.5f) A mix of sun and clouds. Traveling along a rural road, I notice something moving in a field. At first I thought it might be a dog or a large barn cat, but when I zoomed in I was ecstatic to see five fox pups at play near their den in the wild. I slowly made my way through the tall grasses and got within 200 ft. (61m) of the den. Suddenly I heard something move under an abandoned trailer I was using for cover. Even though I did not see the mother or father fox, I took this as warning to leave, that they were near and determined to defend their den. I think I may have also disturbed their hunt for a nearby pheasant who was quite vociferous.

White-tailed Deer : We're lucky enough to see deer in our yard once in a while. This year we've seen them weekly. We think there's a family of 3 living in the wooded area just behind our building. They're getting braver and approaching closer and closer which worries us. We don't want to see these lovely creatures becoming accustomed to people. Hope you enjoy these shots :).

Crab Spider : Traveling down Cove Road near Thomas Cove, we came across a Crab Spider or a Flower or Crab Spider waiting anxiously for its next victim. It hung on tightly as the buttercup danced in the gentle breeze.
