Halifax Skatepark (Sept 29) : I met up a few fellow photographers from the Halifax Photography Society at the Halifax skate park.
The skaters were great to watch. They really have some great talents. We really appreciated them allowing us to capture some of their action.
Thanks!

Abstracts of Hannah : I setup the camera watching the trees erratically swaying in the 50-70MPH winds from Tropical Storm Hannah.
There are no effects, straight from the camera, just a slow shutter speed to capture the movement.
There was no sun, only frantic clouds, and rain. The winds were getting up there when larger pines started to sway a bit.

These photos are mostly of some small white birch trees blowing in the wind.
The light green is the underside of the leaves.

Jellyfish : While sitting on the dock, I noticed a few large jellyfish floating by.
They drifted right into the sunlight which let them showcase their colors.
I laid on the deck trying to get as close as I could to focus on them as they were moving through the ripples and current.

Surfing at Lawrencetown (April 20) : Weather turned out quite nice this day - Spring was definitely here.
Warmer temps and mild wind made it a great day to surf. A few surfers mentioned it was tough to surf, after a while, because the waves were relentless. Water temp was still in the freezing zone. I admire these guys and gals - that water is just too freakin cold for me! :)

Enjoy

Road to Montreal and back : Here are some photos taken during our trip from Halifax to Montreal and back. We traveled 3,300km/2,100miles in total, 1300km/900miles back and forth between Montreal and Halifax, and getting lost on the interchange system about 10 times. We met family and relatives and everything went well. Heading back into Moncton,NB we hit blowing snow and slick roads for about 60 miles and it cleared up to wet roads for the remaining hour drive home.

Almost all shots were taken from inside the Jeep while traveling anywhere from 40MPH to 80MPH. I used the new VR2 lens to help capture some roadside scenery. It was truly amazing, bouncing over bumpy roads at high speeds, the camera was able to zoom in and capture details - it was neat to see it freeze everything as if we were standing still. Well worth the investment.
