Day 64 - Joseph Howe Falls
Located in Victoria Park, Truro, Nova Scotia, the land it resides on was donated in the late 1800's and over the years several more acres were donated, making it a very large retreat (400 acres in the middle of town) for hikers, bikers, and sightseers. The gorge is very nice, with hemlocks and spruce trees lining a large stream with many small cascading falls.
We tried in February, but the ice on the trail hindered us from seeing the frozen falls. We were glad to see them this time.
This is a view from the top of the falls, which is about a 30ft drop. There is a another waterfall upstream that is smaller - about a 20ft drop.
