banjon > Day 169 - Afternoon Deluge

Everyone got pummeled by a massive down pour today. Its been raining for 3 days. ugh. Thankfully on and off with some breaks of fog here and there.

The deluge lasted for almost a half hour, dumping more and more water. I was trying to help the flowers survive the huge droplets. This flower was bending left and right, as the rain was relentlessly hitting it with huge droplets.

Barb said she noticed the birds all high-tailing out of the area, no wonder. :) Lightning and a Heavy Rain... enough to make anyone run for cover.

The rain was warm, like bath water. I didn't mind getting my feet and legs soaked. I felt like a kid again, out in the puddles (but on the porch). I kept the camera close at hand, when I noticed these sprays of water bursting when a droplet collided with a flower.

banjon > Day 332 - Mystic Reflection

The water had a near stillness, only a very slight current, which made the reflection look like a fresco painting.
Plus I loved the color of the sky and partial trunk reflections.

banjon > Day 342 - Flute Keys

I always liked the mechanical parts of a flute. How they all work together.

banjon > Day 241 - Gourde and Basket

I thought I'd try some different angles using the gourds.
The basket really blended with this pumpkin shaped gourde,
so I tried a few photos.

The setup was a black board in back, two white boards (on left and right), flash banked to left.
I placed a yellow gourde near the flash to help add a bit of yellow cast.

banjon > Day 240 - Gourds

We saw some nice gourds at the local farmer market.
I love the textures and bumps. :)

banjon > Day 228 (1/2) - Red on Blue

The sunlight illuminated these red maple leaves, which were reaching out over the river.

I was so glad they caught my eye, because the sun really cooperated and let me create some great photos.

Check out the other photos from along the river bed. (Fall Album)

I included a second shot because I really loved the bokeh of the water and leaves together.

banjon > Day 318 - Dispense

I always liked the different shapes of oil and vinegar dispensers. Its hard to find the old curvy wide bottom ones.

I raised the dispenser on top of a glass panel (from some frames) and then placed the flash underneath it banking off a white foam board.

banjon > Day 272 - Latherfied

Back lit soap bottle using black and white foam boards to direct the light onto the soap.
The liquid soap can produce some interesting results. :)

banjon > Day 208 - Our Shore Guide

This was one of our two dog guides as we walked along a mudflat and peat bog path at Canning Shore. Sadly, I never got to ask their names from their owner, who was really nice and great to chat with. He told us the dogs would most likely join us on the path. I think they had more fun than we did. They were covered from head to toe in red mud. :)

They loved their pats, and loved to frolic in the mud. Although, I think this one watched one too many episodes of Rin Tin Tin. :)
